Every year The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association hosts the Parade of homes. This tour, held over 3 weekends, is an exhibition of the newest trends in home builds, design styles, and neighborhoods in the greater Atlanta area over the last 60 years. What makes it even more appealing is the ability for anyone to come and compare actual pricing on homes and styles, see what new homes have to offer and to gather ideas for future design elements for people who are not necessarily ready to buy a new home. All for free.
Black Dog Design House teamed up with Ecraft Homes in the 2019 parade to showcase our simplistic elegance while utilizing organic elements to produce the true modern farmhouse feel.
Take a look below:
The Bedroom:
The walls and trim of this bedroom create a flow from the tile in the bathroom into the bedroom by picking up the same colors in the floor rug underneath the bed.
A custom designed headboard by our furniture shop stretches for the high ceilings and pulls natural wooden and cream tones in the button back upholstery and is equipped with functioning lamps creating a cozy opportunity for priceless pillow talk.
Additionally, this headboard eliminates the necessity for large and bulky nightstands and creates the space for a creative pair of custom designed nightstands by Black Dog Design House’s furniture shop.
A linen bed bench anchors the room and continues the natural woodsy brown and grey highlighted theme.
The Sitting Area:
These four wooden pieces of furniture lighten up the area with thick cream cushions and are accented with the trendy-yet-subtle buffalo plaid.
The windows, being the emphasis of this area, favor natural light and the double set of curtains play with the brown color scale while creating depth and texture.
The side table has been accentuated with several distinct pieces that tastefully “bring the outdoors in”.
An antique ottoman tray serves as a kind reminder for your honey to bring you a warm cup of coffee as you read your morning word.
The Entry Way

The elements of wood in the vase and the lamp create for a light, clean and simple look while amplifying the continued style of the house.
Light gray walls focus your attention to the pieces of the area.
An elegant blended credenza carries the accessories and creates character in it’s discreet lasso pulls and lock.
The Bathroom
This dual wooden vanity sings modern farmhouse with its old-fashioned hardware, quartz trough sinks and a sweet service tray adorned with transparent necessity jars.
In this bathroom, the delight is in the details with drawers and cabinets faceted with sleek plated pulls.
Organic, multi-colored hexagonal tile is a fun way to play with different shapes and proceed with the underlying color scheme of the house.
A porcelain stand-alone tub invites homeowners to relax after a long day’s work.
